2025 panel discussion: "On UNITY in the Church"

Pope Leo stated in his homily during the Mass for the beginning of his pontificate how he “would like that our first great desire be for a united Church, a sign of unity and communion, which becomes a leaven for a reconciled world.”

The following day, he told representatives of other churches, ecclesial communities, and religions that “unity has always been a constant concern of mine, as witnessed by the motto I chose for my episcopal ministry: In Illo uno unum, an expression of Saint Augustine of Hippo that reminds us how we too, although we are many, “in the One — that is Christ — we are one.”

But is unity actually possible? Even just among Catholics — with continuing “liturgy wars” and doctrinal debates and leadership clashes — what does ecclesial unity look like?

Join us at the Seminary for the 2025 Cardinals’ Forum … to discuss how our differences can be turned into communion … a fitting topic during this year’s 1700th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicea (which formulated the Creed shared by Christians).

The 2025 panel discussion will take place on Tuesday, August 26 at 7:00 p.m.

Pope Francis has called Artificial Intelligence “an exciting and fearsome tool” that should be “at the service of humanity.”  What exactly does that look like?  As the world rushes headlong into the future – powered by promises of faster, better, more – how do we put Artificial Intelligence at the service of Almighty Omniscience?
