Kristi Bushner

I am a deeply committed Catholic professional who feels sublimely privileged to pass on the depth and profound beauty of the Catholic faith to both laity and seminarians. My multifaceted background provides a unique and engaging element to my teaching. I bring the analytics of engineering, the presentation and persuasive skills of a lawyer and theological knowledge stemming from studies at St. Charles and many years of attendance of lectures, auditing graduate courses as well as independent study. I also have a breadth of past service experiences and currently volunteer weekly at the Missionaries of Charity (Norristown, PA) in their soup kitchen.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
  • Adjunct Faculty at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary teaching for over sixteen years in the College theology department, Propaedeutic Year of Formation, Permanent Diaconate Program and School of Theological Studies.
  • I am the Adult Faith Formation Director at St. John the Baptist Church in Manayunk, PA. At St. John's, I draft and present weekly all catechetical materials for the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) program and for the adult confirmation preparation program. I serve as the point person for OCIA and adult confirmation outreach and logistics.
  • Formerly, I founded and directed Links of Love, a grassroots nonprofit that furnished the basic needs of impoverished single mothers while bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ into their lives.
  • I received an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering and worked at Clairol Corporation for three years.
  • I attended law school and practiced law as a litigator for approximately ten years.
  • I also served as a volunteer attorney for the following pro bono legal organizations: Homeless Advocacy Project, Support Center for Child Advocates and Disabilities Law Project.
PRESENTATIONS
  • Numerous presentations, weekly series and full day retreats on a variety of spiritual and theological topics such as, prayer in the Catholic tradition, the Sacraments, the Eucharist, the Church, the 'Our Father', the saints, the writings of Pope Benedict XVI, etc.
OTHER HIGHLIGHTS

In connection with the work of Links of Love, awarded feature spot on national satellite radio show highlighting “Catholics Making a Difference.”
