Dear Vocation Directors,

It is a great pleasure to welcome you to learn more about St. Charles Borromeo Seminary! Thank you for your interest. As a proud alumnus, it always gives me great to joy to share about our beloved institution, and all that it has to offer. We consider it a privilege to collaborate with our sending dioceses and religious orders.

Our program encompasses every stage of formation, including:

A free-standing, fully accredited College Seminary
A two-year Pre-Theology Program
A Theological Seminary

Effective Fall 2023, St. Charles Seminary offers two distinct Propaedeutic Year programs – one for those entering Pre-Theology, and one for those entering College Seminary. The duration of each program is one full calendar year (August – July). We are continuing to offer our Spiritual Year for those in need of additional time in the Discipleship Stage.

At the beginning of the 2024-25 year, total enrollment was 140 seminarians, representing the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and 14 other dioceses and religious orders from across the country and around the world.

St. Charles strives to form seminarians into men who love the Lord and who will serve His Church with generous hearts, a love for truth and an ardent desire to lead souls to heaven. Please click on the links below to learn more about who we are and what we can offer your seminarians/brothers.
